3.2004	Council of Ministers of the EU	The working group of Council of Ministers of the EU, consisting of representatives from member states patent offices, disregards the European Parliament amendments. The Irish presidency proposall is similar to the proposal the Council presented on 2002 and is even more pro-software patents than the Commission. It does only keep bad or cosmetic ammendments from the European Parliament. Analysed by FFII and Philippe Aigrain.
10.2003	Federal Trade Commission (USA)	Federal Trade Commission Report (FTC) on the problems for free competition caused by patents. It asks for (misguided) reform for the USA patent system.

23.9.2002	EU Council	The Danish Patents Office is President of the workgroup representing Denmark and presents an amendment proposal to the directive in order to make program patenting still more easily.
